Trillys Systems is a technology consulting firm that specializes in providing innovative solutions to various industries. We are currently seeking an Intermediate Technical Writer for a 2.5-year contract position.
Role Summary
- Provide technical writing expertise to develop, update, and maintain land‑based technical documentation, procedures, job aids, and training materials supporting business and IM/IT processes.
- Translate complex technical and operational information into clear, accurate, user‑friendly documentation for diverse audiences, including technical teams, business users, and operational personnel.
- Support IM/IT project teams by producing structured documentation aligned with organizational standards, governance requirements, and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new technical documentation, including procedures, job aids, training materials, and reference guides for land‑based systems and processes.
- Maintain and update existing documentation to reflect system changes, process updates, and evolving business requirements.
- Analyze technical manuals, business processes, and system workflows to produce accurate, concise, and compliant documentation.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), business analysts, developers, and operational staff to gather information and validate content.
- Create documentation for IM/IT environments, including system overviews, configuration guides, user instructions, and process flows.
- Ensure documentation adheres to organizational templates, style guides, and quality standards.
- Support training initiatives by preparing instructional materials, step‑by‑step guides, and visual aids.
- Participate in reviews, audits, and quality assurance activities to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Manage version control, document repositories, and change tracking for all deliverables.
- Communicate complex technical concepts in clear, accessible language tailored to the intended audience.
Mandatory Qualifications
Land Technical Documentation (60 Months)
Minimum 60 months (within the last 120 months) performing both of the following:
- Generating land technical documentation, procedures, job aids, or training materials
- Maintaining land technical documentation, procedures, job aids, or training materials Experience must include detailed examples demonstrating authorship, updates, and content lifecycle management.
Technical Writing in IM/IT Environment (48 Months)
Minimum 48 months (within the last 120 months) working as a technical writer in an IM/IT environment, including:
- System documentation
- Technical process descriptions
- User guides and training materials
- IT service or application support documentation
Rated Technical Criteria
ERP‑Related Procedures (24 Months)
Minimum 24 months (within the last 120 months) writing procedures derived from technical manuals and business processes for an ERP system application.
Additional Qualifications
- Canadian secret clearance is an asset.

- Strong ability to interpret technical manuals, system specifications, and business workflows.
- Proficiency in creating structured, clear, and user‑focused documentation.
- Experience working with IM/IT project teams, SMEs, and operational stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication skills with attention to clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., MS Office, SharePoint, Confluence, Adobe tools).
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple documents, versions, and deadlines.
