— Role Summary —
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloudera Solution Administrator to support a Government of Canada department in the administration, configuration, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise‑scale Hadoop and Cloudera data platforms. The successful candidate will bring deep hands‑on expertise across distributed data systems, specialized data services, and automated deployment technologies.
— Key Responsibilities —
Hadoop & Cloudera Platform Administration
- Administer, configure, and support complex Hadoop ecosystems, including upgrades, configuration management, node management, health monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Administer and maintain Cloudera Data Platform (CDP), including deployment of upgrades, cluster health monitoring, and issue resolution.
Data Management & Distributed Storage
- Monitor, configure, and administer HDFS clusters, ensuring performance, reliability, and data integrity.
- Administer multi‑node HBase clusters, including table management, backup/recovery, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and access management.
Specialized Data Services Administration
- Administer multi‑node Kafka clusters, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and availability management.
- Administer Solr clusters, including collection management, index optimization, complex query creation, and troubleshooting.
- Administer NiFi clusters, including deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Automation & Deployment
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for automated deployment and configuration of servers and software.
— Mandatory Qualifications —
- Minimum 5 years (within the last 10 years) of hands‑on experience administering Hadoop Data Platform environments.
- Minimum 5 years (within the last 10 years) administering Cloudera Data Platform environments.
- Minimum 5 years (within the last 10 years) administering HDFS and multi‑node HBase clusters.
- Minimum 5 years (within the last 10 years) administering Kafka, Solr, and NiFi clusters.
- Minimum 3 years (within the last 10 years) developing and maintaining Ansible playbooks for automated deployments.
— Additional Qualifications —
- Canadian top secret clearance is an asset.
- Last 10-year residency in Canada
