About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Migration Developer to support a federal government initiative involving data migration, database development, and modernization of legacy systems into Oracle environments. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong analytical capability, and a proven track record of delivering high‑quality data transformation solutions.
This role is suited for a senior professional who thrives in structured environments, understands enterprise‑grade data migration, and can work collaboratively with technical and business stakeholders.
Mandatory Requirements
- Education: A post‑secondary degree or diploma in one of the following fields:
- Engineering
- Science
- Computer Science
- Mathematics
- Technology
Credentials must be from a recognized Canadian institution, a Canadian Forces institution, or be validated by a recognized Canadian academic credential assessment service if obtained outside Canada. (Proof of credentials is required)
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 120 months (10 years) within the last 180 months (15 years) working as
- A Software Developer, and/or
- A Database Modeller
- Oracle Data Migration Experience: A minimum of 12 months within the last 60 months performing:
- Data migration and translation from files, legacy systems, or relational databases
- Into Oracle database environments
Desirable / Rated Requirements
- Oracle Data Migration: At least 24 months within the last 120 months performing:
- Extracting data from source systems
- Transforming/mapping data into Oracle structures
- Loading into Oracle staging or production schemas
- PL/SQL or T‑SQL Development: At least 24 months within the last 120 months developing:
- Complex queries
- Stored procedures
- Functions
- Triggers
- Database objects Using Oracle PL/SQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server T‑SQL.
- Microsoft Access & VBA Development: At least 24 months within the last 180 months performing:
- Designing and modifying MS Access database applications
- Developing forms using VBA
- Troubleshooting and optimizing Access applications
- Oracle APEX Development: At least 12 months within the last 120 months developing applications in Oracle APEX.
